A couple months ago my friend Sam suggested I should make a Signature Dulcimore.

To be honest, I didn't really know what a Signature Dulcimore should be?
I floated the idea around and discussed it with a couple others. Then realized a Signature model should be what I want in a dulcimore.
And, I decided since I mainly build Virginia style Dulcimores my Signature model should be a Virginia style Dulcimore.

As some of you know a while back I began making a modified Boss Torc I called the Virginian. I've just built my last Boss Torc Virginian in favor of the new Signature Virginian.

Some of the features of the new Signature Virginian will be:
A new design peghead that uses wood tuning pegs and of course it will have scroll buttons like many old Virginia dulcimores had instead of a carved fiddle style peghead, but it will have a slight amount of carving.
A metal tailpiece string anchor.
Diamond inlay in the fretboard.
Fiddle edge sides.
D-style tailpiece.
4 string unison tuning.
Pythagorean Temperament fret layout standard. Optional Equal Temperament.
2 inch tall sides.
24 inch vsl on a 30 inch long body.
NO feet! I don't personally like feet on a dulcimore, so the Signature Virginian won't have them. Remember, this is what I want in a dulcimore!

Photos of the Signature Virginian #1:

Another Signature Virginian.
Black Walnut and Curly Red Maple.
Equal Temperament.
You'll notice this one has a different metal plate for the string anchor. I wasn't satisfied with the lack of down pressure of the strings on the bridge of the first version.

A Deluxe Cumberland.

I just finished this deluxe Cumberland Travel Dulcimore.
What makes it a deluxe version you ask?
The fiddle edges and the bronze frets. As of today: 3-9-2020, Standard price is $100 + shipping and this one is $135 + shipping.

It's made of a variety of woods:
White pine soundboard.
Butternut back.
Sassafras sides.
Sassafras and mulberry fretboard.
Sycamore and mulberry peghead and tailpiece.
And a couple cherry overlays on the back.
